Dear Parents/Carers

Can I start by saying a huge thank you for the kind comments we have received over the last weeks. Whilst we know the situation isn’t perfect, we continue to review our systems and structure in school to ensure we are doing all we can to keep the community safe and to provide the best education we can.

Public Health England have advised that only students sitting within 2m of the driver on the 101-service last Thursday or Friday need to isolate. We believe we have spoken to all the relevant students and informed them of their isolation period (returning to school on the 19th November). All other students have been cleared to return to school tomorrow. If you have not been contacted directly and believe your child has sat within 2m of the driver on the 101 bus, please call or email us as soon as possible.

Dear Parent/Carer of Y7

The below Bikeability national cycle training programme is being offered to Y7 students, a parental consent form, plus details can be found via links below in a word file as well as PDF format.

If you would like your child to participate please return the consent form attached via your child's tutor by the 23rd November.

Bikeability is the national cycle training programme supported and funded by the Department for Transport. The course builds the skills and confidence of children who can already ride. Bikeability can not only make children better cyclists -

Dear Parents/Carers

I just wanted to up-date you on a few things as we reach the half-way point of the first term. Before I do, I’d just like to publicly thank the staff for their unbelievable efforts and professionalism over the last eight weeks to ensure we continue to meet all the Government safety guidelines that help minimise the risk of Covid-19 infection. To date, we have had no positive cases in school.

Working in bubbles, with staggered breaks, additional cleaning and restrictions on how we can teach has been challenging, but staff and students have adapted well. Given the circumstances, I am pleased with how productive the term has gone so far. Thank you for your continued support and for the positive feedback I’ve received from many of you. We will continue to assess the situation and look to do an even better job as the year progresses.

Dear Parent/Guardian

Dear Parent/Carer

Please find attached an information sheet regarding a Sport England survey that our students are being asked to participate in.

We would like to inform you about research taking place at LSCC to evaluate the impact of a new programme to improve students’ experiences of PE and physical activity. This programme is currently being offered to all secondary schools in England by Sport England and the Secondary Teacher Training Consortium. The research project asks students and staff to complete a short on-line survey before the start and at the end of the project that asks their opinion of the Physical education, physical activity and sport opportunities available to them at school.

Dear Parents/Carers,

With the weather becoming colder and wetter, please can I ask that students come to school with a coat. I saw a few students arriving in the rain this morning with nothing to keep them dry.

Students should remove their coats once in class, so please can I encourage students to wear the following if they are cold:

Dear Parents/Carers,

Should one of our students be tested positive for Covid-19, we need to ensure those who have been in close contact are isolated quickly and sent home as soon as possible. The school will immediately review the situation, contact parents of the students affected and then start a process of sending them home. To this end, please complete the 1-minute online form below by Monday confirming your preferred arrangements for sending your child home should there be a positive case in school.

Letter for parents about COVID-19 symptoms

Public Health England have produced a letter for schools to distribute to parents which explains when a person requires a coronavirus test and what the symptoms of coronavirus are.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Covid Tests

Should your child show Covid symptoms, please see the advice below about getting tested:

The Government have also stated that there will soon be the option to book tests using an app. Once we have more information about this, we will update you.
