This year A-level students at Liskeard School and Community College have achieved outstanding results, with over three quarters of the results within the A* to C grade boundaries and an overall 99% pass rate.Vocational courses have had a 100% success rate with several candidates obtaining double starred distinctions.

Director of Sixth Form, Gill Prichard said, “We are delighted to see our students having the success they need to proceed onto university or the world of work. The staff here have high expectations and it is their support which enables the students to perform at their best. The team work is evident and has culminated in an excellent set of results.”

This has been a busy year for everyone involved with the Sixth Form in all sorts of aspects. Our Sixth Form Football Team were County Champions again, winning all of their matches. Luke Moynan, through the Youth parliament spoke in the House of Commons and two of our year 13 students led the regional debate competition at Exeter.

Head Teacher Mr Alex Lingard said, “I’d like to congratulate all the students and thank all the staff at school for their hard work and support. These results go to show what a thriving Sixth Form we have in Liskeard. The number of students gaining A* - B grades this year is outstanding! All our students now have places at university, gained employment or will be taking up apprenticeships and we wish them all the very best in the exciting times that lie ahead of them.”

Of those students studying A-levels there are a number who deserve particular praise for outstanding results. These include:

Orson de Rijke-Thomas with 3 A*’s in Business, Geography and PE. He is now off to Cardiff University to study Business Management.

Jamie Graham with 2 A*’s in Biology and Chemistry and grade A in Maths with an A* in his EPQ. He is off to Exeter University to study Biological Science.

Toby Cogan with 2 A*’s in Biology and Environmental Studies and grade A in Geography. He is off to Exeter to study Environmental Science.

Marie Hancock with A* in Philosophy & Ethics and grade A in English Literature and History. She is off to Bristol to study Law.

Ronan Stone with A* in Geography and A grades in Biology, English Literature and Philosophy & Ethics. He is off to Cardiff University to study Biomedical Science.

Laura Rogers with A* in Business and A grade in Textiles and grade B in English. She is off to Cardiff University to study Business management.

Luke Moynan with A* in Spanish and A grade in Maths and B grade in Philosophy & Ethics. He also achieved an A* in his EPQ. He is off to LSE to study Politics.

James Palmer with A* in Media and grade B in History and grade C in English Literature. He is off to Bath Spa to study Film and Media.

Grace Smart with A* in Textiles, and grade C in Business and English language. She is off to Cardiff Met to study Interior Design.
