Although this year has witnessed many changes in the educational world our students and teachers have faced the challenges with their usual enthusiasm.

Gill Prichard, Director of Sixth Form said ‘What an exceptional year. Our students have excelled themselves. Amid all the constant alterations in the exam process they have risen to the ever increasing demands and exceeded our expectations. I am so proud of them and wish them all the best in their future plans.’

This year our A level students have achieved outstanding results with nearly three quarters of the year group achieving A* to C grades and an overall 99% pass rate. Our vocational courses at both level 2 and 3 have had a 100% success rate with several candidates obtaining double distinction.

Head teacher Mr Alex Lingard said ‘I’d like to congratulate all the students and thank all the staff at school for their hard work and support. These results go to show what a great sixth form we have in Liskeard. All our students now have places at university, gained employment or will be taking up apprenticeships.’

Of those students studying A-levels there are a number who deserve particular praise for outstanding results. These include:

Eleanor Frew who achieved 3 A* grades and 3 A grades, she is now off to Oxford University to study Chemistry.

Lauren Casley with 2 A* grades and 4 A grades, she is now off to Bristol University to study Maths.

Jess Lambie with A*, 2A grades and a B grade, is off to New Zealand before she goes to university to study Film and television innovation.

Sam Hooper who achieved an A*, A and B grades in his subject areas. He is now taking up an Engineering apprenticeship.

Steven Howlett who achieved an A* and 2 C grades, he is now off to Plymouth University to study Accounting and Finance.

Emma Wilton who achieved an A* and 2 B grades, she is now off to Nottingham Trent to study Microbiology.

Alongside their studies the students have also been busy with their extra curricular activities including: Gold Arts Leaders Award where everyone passed and our Physics students who were very busy completing an Engineering project in conjunction with Plymouth University. This year our Football Academy has grown from strength to strength and we are lucky enough to have Plymouth Argyle coaches working with our students this year. The Maths Academy has made strong links with Warwick University and several students have attended summer schools in Cambridge.  With this attitude to make things happen, their futures look set to be impressive.
