The students at Liskeard School Sixth Form have had another successful set of A level and AS results, and this combined with extra opportunities they have engaged in has put the students in a good position for university, apprenticeships or the world of work.

Gill Prichard, Director of Sixth Form said ‘This year group have worked extremely hard to achieve their excellent results. We could ask no more from them and many have exceeded our expectations. It is very exciting to see them move onto the next stage of their lives and we wish them all the best.’Liskeard-Sixth-Form-Results-3

This year our A level students have achieved outstanding results with 72 % A to C grades and an overall 99 % pass rate. The BTEC sports Science course also had a 100% success rate with several candidates obtaining a merit or distinction. Our level 2 Construction course obtained 100% pass rate, with a high percentage of students achieving a high distinction grade. Yet again our students have shown that through their own hard work and support from their teachers, they have been able to achieve their potential.

Of those students studying A-levels there are a number who deserve particular praise for outstanding results. These include:

Tom Collier with 3 A* grades in Maths, Chemistry and Physics. He is now off to Durham University to study Physics.

Megan Longworth with 2A* and an A grade for Chemistry, Maths and Biology is now going to Oxford University to study Biomedical Sciences.

Tom Foss , one of our Presidents, achieved an A* for Maths and B grades in Further Maths and Psychology. She is now going to Leeds University to study Maths.

Other students with a mix of A and B grades:

Dylan Peel is off to Marjons to study Health, Exercise and Sports.

Molly Pick is off to Brighton University to study English Language and Linguistics.

Charlotte Phillips is going to Cardiff metropolitan University to study Sports.

Tegan Andrews is going to Plymouth Art College.

Eden Bernard Tromans is going to Plymouth University to study Maths.

Craig Black is off to Portsmouth University to study Criminology.

Olivia Early is travelling Europe.

Caron Pritchard is going to Cardiff University to study Geography

Jake Taylor Bruce is going to Bangor University to study Marine Biology.

Alongside their studies the students have also been busy with their extra curricular activities including:

Auschwitz Trip – Shanna O’Connell and Joel Nash took the opportunity to visit Poland as part of an international programme.

Many of our Sixth Form Students were involved in some way with the school production of Oliver! this summer which was an inspiring display of talent.

Corrie McDonald has already gone to the USA to begin her football training in the Academy there, which she had to raise funds for to support her sponsorship.

And these are just a few of their outstanding achievements in addition to their studies. With this attitude to make things happen, their futures look set to be impressive.

Given these excellent results, if you know of any students who have yet to decide where to go for post 16 provision this coming September, please ask them to call us for an interview. We would be delighted to receive their call.
