2016 Parliamentary Review

Liskeard School & Community College has been selected to appear in the 2015/16 edition of The Parliamentary Review. Established by former minister The Rt Hon David Curry shortly after the 2010 general election, The Parliamentary Review’s September release has become a key fixture in the political calendar.

Congratulations to all our GCSE students for some amazing results this year. The performance of so many has been a delight to see and is a testament to the hours of studying and revision put in over the last 5 years. Thank you to all the teachers for their hard work and to parents for their unrelenting support.

Alex Lingard, Head Teacher, said “I’m so proud of what the students have achieved. The progress the students have made since joining the school is superb.”

Although this year has witnessed many changes in the educational world our students and teachers have faced the challenges with their usual enthusiasm.

Gill Prichard, Director of Sixth Form said ‘What an exceptional year. Our students have excelled themselves. Amid all the constant alterations in the exam process they have risen to the ever increasing demands and exceeded our expectations. I am so proud of them and wish them all the best in their future plans.’

Liskeard School and Community College has had a facelift - a partial facelift, that is! Its Sixth Form has been rebranded to emphasize its status as a community college and to make it distinguishable from the rest of the school. Head Teacher, Alex Lingard, said "Although the name Liskeard School and Community College says we are both a School and a College we wanted to create something more visual to show that they are different. I'm absolutely delighted with the outcome."

Liskeard School and Community College recently held its annual sports day with events taking place across the school site. The sun was shining and spirits were high as students took to the school fields and Astro pitches to participate in the morning events including rounders, cricket, football, netball and volleyball. The afternoon session saw the students take to the running track for the relays which culminated in the much anticipated staff v sixth form relay won comfortably by the Sixth Form students with the PE Department struggling over the line in third place.
