The Cornwall and Isle of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) have been commissioned to consult with young people regarding their Strategic Economic Plan for Cornwall.

At the consultation event, students at Liskeard School and Community College and three other schools in Cornwall had the opportunity to put forward their ideas regarding the future of Cornwall and their part in it.  They met with representatives from Cornish businesses and discussed economic decisions and priorities, also sharing their aspirations for their lives and careers in Cornwall to 2030 and beyond.

As part of the on-going careers programme at Liskeard School, Year 10 visited the annual Careers Show at the Wadebridge showground. This year it was sponsored by Worldskills UK and The Careers and Enterprise Company.

Recently Liskeard School and Community College hosted Be Strong Online Training, provided by the Diana Award. In total fifty-eight students from Liskeard, Callington, Poole and Looe Community College honed their understanding of e-safety issues and practised their skills of presenting to a large audience.

The education tentacles of Argyle Community Trust have now stretched to Liskeard School and Community College, where the Trust Football Development Manager Jason Chapman has taken responsibility for the College Under-18 team.

As a Trust, we’ve been looking to establish greater educational links in East Cornwall for some time and we are delighted to now be working with Liskeard School and Community College.

The College has joined the Argyle Education League, competing against teams from Redruth, Okehampton, Kevicc in Totnes, Sir John Hunt, Wadebridge and City College Plymouth.

The TicTac Centre, at Liskeard School & Community College, received a financial boost recently due to the amazing efforts of a local fundraiser.

Mark Kelly completed the Cotswold Triathlon in a time of 1 hour and 7 minutes and raised a grand total of £1,858 for TicTac, an information and advice centre for young people, which provides health and emotional support for students at Liskeard School.
