Work Experience

Students at Liskeard School & Community College have had another fantastic year of work experience opportunities. Year 10 and 12 students have returned to school full of their own stories and ideas about what sort of career lies ahead of them.

Local employers have once again done our community proud with students working with them in a variety of industries, giving them a real taste of what the world of work is actually like.

Liskeard School Edubanks

Liskeard School was delighted to receive a clothes bank from local company Edubanks. Edubanks are a Cornish Textiles Recycling company that recycle clothing, shoes, leather goods, sheets, curtains, towels and blankets. Some of the proceeds are then invested back into the school to help improve the education of the students at Liskeard School.

The clothes bank is located near the Old Hall in the car park at Liskeard School and donations are welcome from anyone in the community.

Sports Day

Liskeard School and Community College held another incredibly successful sports day to mark the end of a superb year of sporting activity and achievement at the school.

Events took place across the school in the glorious Cornish sunshine. Morning activities included volleyball, cricket, football, rounders and netball. After a lunchtime barbeque provided by our catering partners Chartwells the focus moved to the relays in the afternoon. Competition was fierce, especially when the staff relays commenced, but spirit and togetherness was always at the forefront of activities.

Sixth Form Ball

Liskeard Sixth Form students had a memorable send-off at the stunning venue at St Mellion International Resort for the annual summer ball.

Year 12 and 13 students enjoyed the warm summer evening to mingle, remember their time at Liskeard and look to the future. Students looked amazing in their best suits and ball gowns. Lucia Gould was belle and Jake Hockin beau of the ball.

Liskeard School Hannah Pollard DOE

Hannah Pollard, a student at Liskeard Sixth Form, was awarded her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award at Buckingham Palace recently. The Olympic champion Greg Rutherford was an inspirational speaker at this event and he explained how sport had changed his outlook on life and linked it to the influence of scouting and how this association is so worthwhile for youngsters.
