Fifteen of our top set year 10 students attended a further maths support programme (FMSP) day at Penryn Campus on Friday 6th January. The purpose of the day was to inspire our highest achievers in maths to pursue the subject at A-level and to think about where maths might take them in the future.

To many people, Christmas is all about 'Traditions' and it's true to say that for many years now it's been a tradition, at the end of term, for Liskeard School to visit a number of local residential homes with Year 7 students to share in a 'Christmas Celebration' with both residents and staff.

A-level Engineering students from Liskeard Sixth Form recently visited the materials laboratory at Plymouth University to use their tensile testing machine and furnace to complete some destructive tensile tests on three samples of EN3B Bright Drawn Mild Steel. This was carried out to measure the behaviour of steel when it’s subjected to a tensile (pulling) force.

Engineering students from Liskeard School and community College were delighted to be given the opportunity to visit Kawasaki Precision Machinery UK Limited to gain a better understanding of how local engineering manufacturing companies mass produce products to an extremely high quality using ‘state of the art’ CNC machines.

Nine students from Liskeard Sixth Form embarked upon a very special expedition to Morocco at the end of the year. Harry Rees, Abbie Gubbin, Jordan Smith, Abbie Palmer, Connor Wilkes, Sophie Gerry, Katy Hollister, Jasmine Murfin and Emma Wilton were led by Liskeard School staff Mark Lemin and Andy Glasgow to complete a challenging trek and community work in Morocco.
