Sixth Form students at Liskeard School & Community College have been working in the community with adults with physical difficulties, carrying out engaging and entertaining activities.

Each Wednesday afternoon since early January, the students have been visiting the Echo Centre, a day resource for people in the local area with physical disabilities, working with the staff to help create activities for those who attend the centre to get involved in.

A belated World Book Day 2018 took place on Friday 16th March at Liskeard School & Community College, with students and staff enthusiastically taking part and wearing some fantastic costumes.

The day, which was rescheduled after the school was closed on the original date due to snow, was re-arranged and students and staff showed great enthusiasm for the day.

LSCC Science Fair House Competition

LSCC students are encouraged to get creative by carrying out their own science project for the LSCC Science Fair House Competition! Work individually or as a group, and bring your report/model/display into school by 16th March (1.30pm deadline). The Science staff are more than happy to offer advice, and will be laying out safety guidelines for the competition in lessons!

Help Liskeard School Alumni Olivia Early take her debut show to The Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year!

Following successful performances in London, Birmingham and Bristol, actress, Olivia, is calling on the local community to help raise the funds to take her theatre company’s debut show ‘A Womb of One’s Own’ to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Year 7 students at Liskeard School & Community College were treated to a whole day off timetable this past week, spending the day looking into the world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).

During the day, students worked together in small groups of 4 or 5 to tackle a series of activities around the theme of ‘energy’. The first challenge was to design, make and test a wind turbine against the clock. This was followed by a challenge to design and make a drag car to see how far it could travel on a single burst of energy.
