Sixteen years ago TicTac, a charity based in Liskeard that provides health information and advice for young people, moved into their current facility which from day one had a leaking roof. Since the charity was formed it has grown significantly and from its original one room it has now taken over the entire building. However, the problem with the roof continued as TicTac did not have the money to spend on it; this meant the charity would have had to close the facility next year.

Students at Liskeard School have been eagerly preparing for the 2015 Uganda trip which was last run in 2012.

Some of our gifted and talented year 10 science and maths students recently undertook a very challenging two day project. The scenario they had to deal with was a fictional forthcoming global catastrophe. Of course, if this was happening for real, it would be essential that real options for possible solutions would need to be found as soon as possible, in order that there was the maximum amount of time to save as many people as possible. That is why the students who undertook this project had to consider a huge amount of information and come up with relevant ideas within very tight time deadlines.

September has been a superb month at Liskeard School for fundraising. The school has a proud tradition of fundraising for a number of charities both locally, nationally and even internationally.

At just seventeen a former student of Liskeard School, Will Schooling, has passed out of Harrogate AFC this summer and will be joining the Coldstream Guards. Will applied for the army when he was fifteen while at Liskeard School. Careers and Work Related Learning Co-ordinator Mrs Carlin helped Will with his application.
