Cancer Research Rowing

Students from Liskeard School & Community College, and members of the Liskeard School Rowing Club, are using their rowing skills to help support Cancer Research UK in preparation for the upcoming Relay For Life at the end of May.

The relay is a 24 hour event held in 50 locations across the country over the summer months. The event involves teams walking around a running track through the night, testing stamina, endurance and resilience for and amazing cause.

Luke Moynan

Liskeard Sixth Form are celebrating the success of Luke Moynan, a Year 12 student, who was recently voted the East Cornwall Representative in the UK Youth Parliament. Luke, voted the candidate for Liskeard, enjoyed a day at Truro County Hall working with candidates across Cornwall to develop manifesto points, meet with current representatives and record a campaign video.

Belgian Students Visit

Liskeard School & Community College was delighted to welcome 49 students and staff from a school in Belgium. The group were visiting the South West and paid a special visit to the school to have a taster of British school life.

After a welcome from Assistant Head Teacher Mrs Penberthy and Modern Foreign Languages Teacher Mrs Lofthouse, They started the day with PE Teacher Mr Lemin and a group of Sixth Former Leaders to take part in some team building activities whilst enjoying the glorious Cornish sunshine.

Restormel Will Kitto

The Technology Department at Liskeard School & Community College has nominated Sixth Form student Will Kitto for the top award for his outstanding work throughout his A Level Engineering course.

Will produced a product of high complexity and engineering competence. He designed a gearbox complete with all the internal components on industrial software located at Liskeard School called Solidworks. His Computer Aided Design and CAD engineering drawings were commended by Jim Underwood, managing Director of Restormel Machine LTD.

Cornwall U18 Badminton Team

Liskeard School and Community College Year 9 student Cara Collins was recently part of history as Cornwall Under 18 Badminton competed at the National Inter Counties Tournament. Cara, who is ranked 4th in the Under 15’s nationally in badminton, was part of the Cornwall team and played superbly throughout.
