Staff and students at Liskeard School & Community College recently took part in a number of activities to raise money for the communities affected by the devastating earthquakes in Nepal.

The fundraising began with staff and students participating in a whole school dress down day, contributions from which raised over £700.

Liskeard School & Community College’s Year 10 football team were celebrating recently when they became county football champions.

A tough game played in perfect conditions was won 4-1 against Penryn School at St Blazey FC's Blaise Park.

Students from Years 7 to 13 took part in Liskeard School’s Mock Election day on Thursday 7th May. As the local electorate was visiting the polling stations, students were also voting for their S.E Cornwall candidates in the ALC, which was set up with polling booths and authentic ballot boxes.

Students from Liskeard School and Community College took part in a ‘pass out’ on Friday 15 May at Liskeard Community Fire Station.
The official passing out parade marked the culmination of the group’s learning during the five day Phoenix Project course. During the ceremony, held in front of family and friends, the group showcased firefighting techniques, including hose running.

Liskeard School & Community College recently welcomed local candidates to take part in a hustings event in their sixth form centre in the build up to the General Election.  Sheryll Murray of the Conservatives, Phil Hutty of the Liberal Democrats, Andrew Long from Mabyon Kernow, Martin Corney from the Green Party and Martin Menear representing Labour took part in an hour long session in the Sixth Form Common Room with students from years 10 to 13.
