‘As well as recognising schools that make the arts come alive, the Artsmark award is a useful, practical and valuable tool for enriching a school’s arts provision and ensuring the myriad of benefits brought by the arts are infused across the curriculum and the school community.  It provides schools with access to high quality and practical resources and enviable networks that will enable them to use the arts to inspire learning and harness the power of the arts in developing happy, successful and confident young people’. Arts Council England.

Liskeard School and Community College has been celebrating its news, achievements and successes for many years now in Liskeard and the wider community. The Reflection Magazine has been running since 2007 with full colour pictures and articles which now appear regularly on the school website, local press and social media.

Recently an old copy of Liskeard School News was discovered from December 1993! The issue was highlighting some great achievements and exam successes as well as the new building works to allow the school to be located at one site.

Students from Liskeard School & Community College spent the morning working with amazing local illustrator Keith Sparrow before accompanying him on a journey by train. Keith is a freelance illustrator and designer who works in a wide range of styles including cartoons, marketing and events visuals, storyboards and poster design.

On Saturday 7th May 2016 11 girls from Liskeard School and 3 students from Looe, Richard Lander and Newquay Tretharras attended the Under 15 National Girls Rugby Finals held at Lichfield RFC, Birmingham. The tournament started with a match against St Pauls School from Norfolk. An evenly contested game saw the Liskeard girls have a try disallowed for being held up before Merryn Doidge ended a flowing move involving the majority of the backs by scoring in the corner. Unfortunately concentration and focus was lost for a split second as St Pauls broke through a resolute and organised defence to equalise, as the referee concluded the match.
