On Thursday 26th September, PC Dave Trowt, a Road Casualty Reduction Officer from Bodmin Police Station, came to Liskeard Community College to talk to all of the year 11 students about the physics of road safety.

Students have been studying this aspect of physics since the beginning of term and PC Trowt was able to put this into a real world context. Videos demonstrated the use of speed cameras and computer programmes demonstrated the importance of keeping a safe distance from the car in front. PC Trowt also told lots of stories about his experiences of unsafe driving and their impact.

It was a really useful talk to the years 11’s and raised a number of very important issues to prepare year 11 students for the future.
