You will recall previously that we were reviewing our approach to the provision of the late buses and our need to ensure that the £15,000 we were paying for them represented the best use of school funds. We reduced the bus routes to the most popular ones and reduced the cost to £6,000. We then sold tickets at £1 a journey to recover some of the cost.

Throughout the autumn term, the transport has been used on average by 16 students only. However, the numbers attending after school activities have risen in the same period - for example, the rowing club which has a fantastic number of students attending on Monday nights. Governors have taken the decision to cancel the late buses with effect from half term as we cannot justify the outlay for this provision. (Separate provision will be made for Sixth Formers on period 6 lessons.) If you have outstanding tickets on your bus pass after half term, we will willingly reimburse you. Please take your tickets to the Finance Office.

Y11 revision classes after school are due to begin shortly.  If parents are unable to arrange to pick up their child and there is no bus service available, please let the Head of Year know.  If there is sufficient demand, we will try to meet this need.
