Mr Alex Lingard BSc (Hons)
Head Teacher

Obviously our main duty as a school is to ensure students are happy and safe from harm. As part of our safeguarding practice we have spent the last 3 weeks during tutor time looking at why and how young people get drawn into extremism and radicalisation. Assemblies, Newswatch and discussion time during PHSCE lessons have been used to give students a better understanding of the issues. All the resources we have used plus some guidance for parents can be found on the school website (Parents/Carers > PHSCE). I strongly recommend you have a look and talk to your son/daughter about the issues that we have discussed.

After half-term all staff will be trained in how to help prevent extremism and radicalisation. Together we can build pupils’ resilience to radicalisation by promoting fundamental British values and enabling them to challenge extremist views.
