Liskeard School and Community College recently turned into the ‘School of Rock’, with an ambitious full school production of the show being performed to a delighted audience.

‘School of Rock’ was the first rock musical production that the Performing Arts team at Liskeard School had undertaken, with students from years 8 to 13 involved.

The production received rave reviews from its audiences, and the Performing Arts team received a thank you card from students at St Cleer school, who attended one of the performances.

Kerensa Crawshaw, Head of Performing Arts at Liskeard School & Community College, was delighted with the success of the production and the students’ performances.

“Our students rose to the challenge, not only delivering some amazing character acting, but also singing and playing instruments live on stage. Whilst Jack Black is a tough act to follow, Liskeard’s Rudi Harrison-Ward showed that he was more than able to “stick it to the man!”.

“I’m sure we have introduced people to performers that they are going to see a lot more in the future!” she said.

Liskeard School Year 11 student, Rudi Harrison Ward said:" It was really fun and natural to perform with all the cast, and was received incredibly as well. I plan to continue drama with the Sixth Form - a great experience."
