Year 7 students at Liskeard School & Community College represented Team Liskeard in the community and truly embraced the school ethos of courage, resilience and kindness when they took part in a community project with a local Beaver Scout troop.  The project was part of Liskeard School celebrating the 40th anniversary of becoming a comprehensive school next year.

Liskeard School teacher Dr. Ceri Shilling said “It was a delightful community project with 7E. They were amazing and a real credit to the school.”

A series of experiments were set up to help Beaver Scout troop 1st Linkinhorne, based at Upton Cross, achieve their experiments badge.  Liskeard students decided on the experiments and planned the materials needed and were superb in helping the Beavers complete the different experiments which included erupting a volcano, exploding a coke bottle with Mentos, exploring chromatography and cleaning pennies with a chemical reaction.

The Beavers were extremely excited to be supported by the Year 7 students, who were kind, helpful and polite throughout.  The students who helped were Mitchell White, Isla Colenso, Freya Bevan, Maisie Hooper, Caitlin Murray, Cameron Thompson, Emily Marshall, Bell Rollings, Lilia Karn and Morwenna Burgess.

The Beavers all passed their badge with flying colours!
