The Liskeard and South East Cornwall Breather's Group is a charity supporting sufferers of COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) - a chronic lung disease that causes severe breathing difficulties. The group have been a long supporter of the school giving annual talks to students about the importance of not smoking. Their impact has been amazing with the proportion of young smokers falling dramatically over the last 5 years.

Recently, the Breathers have launched 'Sue's Booklet' - a guide to helpful services for patients with COPD. Kaitlin Hammond, a Year 11 student, took it upon herself to create a piece of artwork to support the campaign. The piece now features prominently at the beginning of Sue's Booklet. Headteacher, Alex Lingard, said "Kaitlin's artwork is a wonderful piece of work and gives a clear message to people about the real dangers of smoking. This act of kindness will not only help prevent others from suffering with lung disease, but it will, I am sure, inspire others."
