Students at Liskeard School & Community College have had another fantastic year of work experience opportunities. Year 10 and 12 students have returned to school full of their own stories and ideas about what sort of career lies ahead of them.

Local employers have once again done our community proud with students working with them in a variety of industries, giving them a real taste of what the world of work is actually like.

Student placements varied tremendously, including riding stables, office work, retail and marketing working for companies like The Eden Project, The National Trust, Santander and even on site at Liskeard School.

So many positive comments were written by employers praising students’ work ethic, politeness and communication skills.  In fact, some employers were so impressed with their students that there were offers of part-time work or Apprenticeships, once they leave school.

Careers and Work Related Coordinator Collette Carlin said “Thankfully, we have an abundance of supportive and flexible local employers who are willing to give our students the chance of trying an employment area. We are very proud of all our students and the feedback we have received from employers has been superb.”
