Liskeard School and Community College student Harvey Bevan won a silver medal at the Junior Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championships in Wolverhampton.  It is a fantastic achievement by Harvey at what was the largest junior Jiu Jitsu competition in the world with more than 600 juniors from 17 different countries competing.

Harvey trains at Combat Athletics Academy in Fore Street, Liskeard and mentor Mark Tucker who is pictured with Harvey was thrilled with his success.  A club spokesman said "Everyone at Combat is so very proud of Harvey and no one more than Mark.  He has always said Harvey is a very dedicated individual with a lot of respect for the sport.  Harvey has been training at Combat Athletics Academy for the last two years and always puts 100 per cent effort in".  This is not the first time Harvey has stood on the winning podium.  Earlier this year he won gold at the British Championships.
