In March, Liskeard School and Community College were delighted to host Brook Cornwall for a Health Awareness Day. The two day ‘bitesize’ event was presented to students in year 10.

Brook ran a number of different activities in the Active Learning Centre that students actively took part in. Topics were lead by the students and included information about STIs; discussions about LGBT; safe sex and not feeling pressured. The activities were interactive and engaging and students were positive and involved throughout.

Year 10 did themselves proud by showing what they already knew, and by approaching the subjects with mature attitudes and questions.

One student said “I learnt so much that I didn’t know before, and I really enjoyed it.”

The school look forward to having Brook back in the future to continue working with our students.

Head of PSCHE Emily Lofthouse said “It was a great couple of days. Year 10 were mature and engaged throughout, and Brook did a great job. I look forward to having them back next year."
