Liskeard School and Community College was awash with red and sports gear in March to raise awareness and funds for the annual fundraiser Sport Relief.

Students and staff adorned sports clothing for a donation and took part in activities across the day to raise money for this great cause. During lunch the PE department organised a dodgeball competition at Lux Park and staff challenged students to a table tennis tournament in the Sports Hall.

At lunch time the whole school took part in the Sport Relief Mile, following a route around the school premises. Some opted to run and others enjoyed the sun with a leisurely walk, all adorned with red or their chosen team colours.

In total over £1,000 was raised as Liskeard School continued to support causes in the local and wider community.

Business Manager Paul Taylor said “Once again Liskeard School and Community College has done its bit in raising funds for charity. The school strongly encourages involvement in lots of charity fund raising and every year the student council vote to elect a "Charity of the Year" which they particularly endorse and with which they get involved. This involvement provides our students with a greater knowledge of life and hardships that confront others less fortunate.  Last year we raised a massive total of £10,764.37in charity fundraising.”
