Welcome to Liskeard School and Community College. Liskeard is a friendly, caring, supportive school with people and relationships at its heart.  We believe in that we achieve more when we work together: students, staff, parents and the wider community.  We are committed to people being successful and ensure that learning opportunities are provided to make this a reality. 

As a school, we uphold the traditional values of courtesy, respect and consideration for others, punctuality and taking pride in who we are and what we do.  We regard it as a privilege to provide high quality comprehensive education for over 1100 students aged 11-18 (including 220 in Sixth Form).

Our Sixth Form is a real strength of the school.  We offer a variety of 'A' level and Vocational programmes as well as our Football Academy.  Students enjoy Sixth Form life and achieve success with us – our results record is one of the best in Cornwall and each year many go on to further study at University.

Our designation as an Engineering Specialist College shaped our outstanding curriculum which incorporates a wide range of courses and pathways for our young people across all subjects and includes our own off site provision for Engineering, Motor Vehicle and Construction courses. The underpinning attributes of engineering permeate the whole of school life - creativity, problem solving, innovation, leadership and team work.  Whilst the Government’s specialism programme has come to an end, the positive legacy of the work remains with us in our curriculum and in our outreach programme with our partner primary schools  .

We became a co-operative trust school in January 2012. Our aim is that by building our work on the principles and values of co-operation, the improvements we have secured in recent years in both aspiration and achievement will continue to rise and our community as a whole will thrive.

Gratifyingly Good: Liskeard School and Community College celebrates its recent Ofsted inspection outcome

Liskeard School and Community College are proud and delighted with the outcomes of their recent Ofsted inspection, gaining a good judgement for all areas of its practice.

Inspectors praised the school for the quality of teaching: 'most of the teaching observed was good or outstanding' and noted that this had obviously contributed to the success of the examination results in the main school and the Sixth Form which ‘are improving each year.’ 'Teachers have high expectations and students respond well to this.' On Your Marks, Get Set Cook!

In April Liskeard School & Community College hosted a special ‘On Your Marks, Get Set, Cook!’ event in the Old Hall.

The event was organised and presented by the Compass Group and the school’s superb catering company Chartwells, who produce wonderful breakfasts and school meals for the staff and students at Liskeard School. (Read More...)

Comic Relief

Liskeard School and Community College had a full day of charity fundraising for Comic Relief in March with huge amounts of fun had by all, but more importantly, a lot of money was raised for good causes. (Read More...)

Love Liskeard Project by Kirsty Milne, 9L 

Fifteen Year 9 students including myself were recently selected to take part in the ‘Love Liskeard Project’ facilitated by the Real Ideas Organisation (RIO). We had to write a letter of application explaining why we wanted to get involved and what skills we had to offer. I wanted to get involved because Liskeard is a great place to live; however, some individuals don’t see it that way.  I wanted to show people that we need to look on the positive side and find a way forward to revitalise the town.
