This is a temporary website, in place while our new site is being constructed.
Welcome to Liskeard School and Community College. Liskeard is a friendly, caring, supportive school with people and relationships at its heart. We believe in 'High Quality Learning For All' - all pupils, staff, parents and the wider community. We are committed to people being successful and ensure that learning opportunities are provided to make this a reality. As a school, we uphold the traditional values of courtesy, respect and consideration for others, punctuality and taking pride in who we are and what we do. We regard it as a privilege to provide high quality comprehensive education for over 1100 students aged 11-18 (including 220 in Sixth Form).
We are proud to be Cornwall's only Engineering Specialist College. Whilst this means our lead subjects are Technology, Science and Maths, it is the underpinning attributes of engineering which permeate the whole of school life - creativity, problem solving, innovation, leadership and team work. This has shaped our outstanding curriculum which incorporates a wide range of courses and pathways for our young people across all subjects and includes our own off site provision for Engineering, Motor Vehicle and Construction courses.
Our Sixth Form is a real strength of the school. We offer a variety of 'A' level and Vocational programmes as well as our Football Academy. Students enjoy Sixth Form life and achieve success with us - each year many go on to further study at University.
We hope that this temporary website will give you the information you need while our new website is being built. If you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Donna Bryant, Headteacher.
Liskeard School and Community College carried out a four week consultation with pupils, parents, carers, staff, local partners and the wider community on changing their legal status from community school to a foundation school and simultaneously establishing a charitable trust to hold the school's land and assets in trust and formalise and strengthen their existing collaborative arrangements.
The school will remain a part of the Local Authority family of schools but will be supported by the Trust, a key objective of which will be to help the drive for achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people by engaging more strongly with the wider community.
As of 1 January 2012, the school became part of the ‘Liskeard Community Co-operative Learning Trust.’ As a result of this, working with our partners over the coming year, we hope to bring new opportunities to the students and the wider community of Liskeard.
